Welcome to the website of Philadelphia City Councilman-at-Large James F. Kenney.

Since taking office in January 1992, Jim Kenney has acquired a well-deserved reputation for hard work and a willingness to tackle the tough problems confronting the City of Philadelphia. He has taken the initiative on quality of life issues by advocating for innovative solutions to help preserve and improve the basic fabric of Philadelphia’s many and diverse neighborhoods.

A true at-large Councilman, Councilman Kenney has championed numerous issues affecting the entire city of Philadelphia, including economic development, family and domestic violence, police training and recruitment, school violence, anti-graffiti measures, fire and safety inspections, and restructuring the Section 8 housing program. Recent initiatives include reforming Philadelphia’s campaign finance laws, modernizing the Gas Works, improving the region’s information technology industry, constructing more middle-class housing, and advocating for affordable stadium construction. Every initiative undertaken by Jim Kenney is with one goal in mind: convincing current residents to stay in Philadelphia while attracting others to move here.

Now, Councilman Kenney is focusing his efforts on new exciting legislation which will improve our city. Click here for some of Jim's recent bills and resolutions.
